In 2016, the Regional Rail system had an average of 132,000 daily riders and 118,800 daily riders (As of 2019). It is the sixth-busiest commuter railroad in the United States, and the busiest outside of the New York, Chicago, and Boston metropolitan areas. The system has 13 branches and more than 150 active stations in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, its suburbs and satellite towns and cities. The SEPTA Regional Rail system ( reporting marks SEPA, SPAX) is a commuter rail network owned by SEPTA and serving the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Construction will be ongoing until the Fall of 2023. Please note: Due to the platform rehabilitation taking place on the platforms adjacent to South Commercial Road, access to SEPTA North platforms at Terminal A- B, C-D, and E-F will be closed beginning Monday, Sat 6:00am. All stations on the Airport Line are wheelchair accessible. Stations on the Airport Regional Rail Line include Terminal E/F, Terminal C/D, Terminal B, Terminal A (East), Eastwick, Penn Medicine, 30th Street, Suburban, Jefferson and Temple. Trains run every 30 minutes on weekdays and operate from 4:13 am to 11:03 pm (Center City to Airport) and from 5:07 am to 12:07 am (Airport to Center City).On weekends, trains run hourly and operate from 5:13 am to 11:13 pm (Center City to Airport) and from 6:07 am to 12:07 am (Airport to Center City) Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority ( SEPTA) provides train service between Center City and the airport on the Airport Regional Rail Line. ![]()
